Hello everyone.
I've been experimenting with old PC components and encountered a problem with my setup.
The hardware included: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55, Nvidia GTX 1050, Asus A8N SLI Deluxe, 4GB RAM.
I replaced the graphics card with a Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT, but it caused issues.
The system starts normally and shows a display, but it freezes right after the BIOS splash screen appears.
I followed all standard troubleshooting methods—reset CMOS, reinserted RAM, even left it idle for a while—but nothing worked.
Interestingly, when I switched back to the GTX 1050, it booted without freezing and went straight to Windows XP.
I also tried using a second 6800 GT intended for SLI, but it still had the same problem.
It seems the card itself might not be the problem.
If anyone has experience fixing this, please share your advice.
