Issue with Asus A55A displaying black screen when trying to reach BIOS settings.
I was attempting to adjust the sizes of my main HDD partitions on my ASUS A55A (https://www.asus.com/ar/supportonly/a55a...knowledge/), but I suspect I made a mistake with the partitions and the operating system. This doesn’t worry me much since I usually run a Windows USB with Windows 10 and perform a fresh installation—data loss isn’t an issue. However, my current main issue is that the BIOS menu doesn’t appear when I power on the laptop.
When I connect a USB running Windows 10 or a DVD with Windows 7, I don’t get much success. Only a light appears on the power button, some indicator lights are on, and there are noises, but I can’t see the ASUS logo or access the BIOS.
I looked for solutions online, finding that removing the battery from the motherboard might help, though it sometimes lets me see the ASUS logo and enter BIOS, but it often fails.
My plan is to enter BIOS, then use a Windows USB with Windows 10 installation, open the console, and clean the HDD (which I suspect is malfunctioning) to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch. To do this, I need to first get into the BIOS screen.
Anyone else have faced a similar problem and can explain why the BIOS menu isn’t accessible?
P.S.: I also tried removing one or both RAM modules, and sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn’t...
Yeah, I've already attempted that... I don't believe it's connected to the screen. As mentioned, there have been a few instances where I could access the BIOS and even the Windows installation media, but after restarting, I end up with a black screen and can't enter BIOS or view the Asus logo.
