Hey everyone, my Asus X54HR has an Radeon HD 7470M graphics card inside. After switching to Windows 8.1, the brightness control stopped working. Now I can just pick full brightness or turn off the screen. I've been searching online for a solution without much luck, so you're probably my last chance! I've installed the newest ATK package for Windows 8.1 64-bit (includes ATKACPI driver and hotkey utilities version V1.0.0034). I also installed the latest AMD Catalyst Control Center software (details below). Version of the software: 13.251.9001-140423a-171190E-ATI Catalyst-versie 14.4. The source is Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., version 2D-stuerprogramma 8.01.01.1360. It should be registered at REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}/0000 Direct3D-version 9.14.10.01001 OpenGL version 6.14.10.12618. I really hope this helps, and I'm happy to give you more if needed.

I could attempt it, though I've never modified a bios before. Are there any helpful guides you recommend?

It indicates your bios is outdated compared to the latest available on the site. The highlighted warning states: "Warning: The BIOS-file is older than the current version." Click [Exit] to proceed.
