The problem lies in how your GPU performs compared to others, especially during high-resolution games. Despite similar settings, you're seeing much lower frame rates than expected. The differences you noticed between 5800X and 5800X3D aren’t as significant as they seem. You adjusted voltage, memory clock, and clock limits, but scores still lag behind benchmarks that run at 14k–15k FPS. Check the video and tests for reference; they highlight inconsistencies that might affect stability or power delivery.

Checking XMP settings on this PSU might not be the main issue, but it's worth investigating. Run CPU tests on Cinebench R15 and 20 to verify compatibility. Compare RAM specs as well. Try DDU and experiment with various drivers. Ensure your chipset and BIOS are current.

1st - Make sure your BIOS is updated to the newest version. https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-st...desk_bios/
2nd - Install the most recent Chipset drivers from AMD.
3rd - The Zen 3 CPU poses a significant limitation for that card and comparable models. A 5800X3D offers a substantial boost, delivering 20-30% improvement in most games. It rivals Zen4 and surpasses Alder Lake (Intel 12th gen), though it falls short of Raptor Lake (13th gen).

XMP/DOCP must be activated, smart access memory is also enabled. I reinstalled drivers for 4 timers using DDU now; chipset drivers and BIOS were updated just now with no noticeable performance change. I ran a CPU benchmark in 3DMark and compared it to others—it should be functioning properly. No tests on RAM have been performed yet.

Test the RAM at 3600 MHz to extract full performance from the CPU. Keep an eye on GPU usage during games and bench tests. You’ll notice a CPU limitation. Even a 5900X would struggle under these conditions.

Determined the issue with idle power on multiple monitors affecting graphics scores on 3Dmark, reducing performance noticeably. The 5800x seems to be a bottleneck for the 7900 xtx, though I’m unsure if CPU usage consistently exceeds 80%. My data might not reflect the current situation.

The CPU doesn't have to run at full capacity to cause a slowdown. Games and engines typically don't utilize every core or thread, and APIs often rely on just one or a few CPU cores while interacting with the GPU.

Have you experienced any success with this? You're dealing with the same problems I mention, where my performance on the 7900 XTX falls short compared to reviews. I've attempted to update the BIOS, DDU, toggle reisze bar, switch XMP settings, disconnect the secondary monitor, and re-seat RAM and GPU. It's quite disappointing because everything else seems fine—power draw and temperatures are normal. Your setup includes Windows 11 64-bit, latest MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR4, Intel 13600K, AMD reference 7900 XTX Corsair Vengeance PRO 32GB 3600MHz DDR4, and a C18 Corsair RM850 power supply.

Refused to keep the 7900 xtx, aiming for an AIB model or 4090 in the near future.
