Issue with 4000x display on included fans not functioning properly
Hey everyone, I’ve got a question here. I just assembled my first PC using a 4000x case, Gigabyte B760 motherboard, 16GB 3200MHz Vengeance RGB, and Corsair AX860 PSU. The case already had three fans connected to the pre-installed Corsair Node Hub. I only added the SATA for the hub and linked the hub to the USB port on my motherboard. When I powered it up, there was a brief pop and a burning smell for a couple seconds, but everything worked fine afterward.
The front fans are showing their RGB lights: the top one is completely off, the middle has a blue LED, and the bottom one has a red LED. The hub is detected by ICIU and SignalRGB, but neither can be controlled from there.
I’m having trouble with the RGB control—nothing seems to work. The fans are spinning and ramping up normally, so it’s not the fans themselves. I’ve been troubleshooting this for two days and still can’t figure it out.
The local store that sold me the case hasn’t responded to my ticket for five days now. I bought this specific model because it was the only one available in Eastern Europe, and I paid extra since I knew it came with good Corsair fans and RGB hub.
Anyone have any ideas? Is there something wrong here? Should I probably spend another $80 to get a Commander Pro to replace the included node? And can I be sure this won’t happen again? I’m really confused about what went wrong, even though everything else seems fine.
