I bought a functional GPU from a trusted seller on eBay. I intended to test 3Dmark as proof of purchase after getting a newer model, but the setup failed when connecting it to my old Alienware R6. The whole system would crash during 3Dmark use, unlike with Heavenbench or Cinebench last month. Even uninstalling 3Dmark didn’t stop the crashes. Now that my old GPU is back, the program works without issues (though a bit slower). I realize I probably downloaded the wrong version—maybe I wanted the pro edition—and I might have made a mistake installing it. It’s possible my system isn’t compatible with the 2060 after all. I’m confused and worried because this could cost me $200, which is a big amount for me. Please help me figure out what’s going on.
It's possible the Alienware R6 PSU isn't sufficient for the latest graphics card.
What is your power supply unit? If you connect a high-performance card, it might not have enough wattage. It could also be due to outdated graphics drivers. Be sure to remove the old ones before installing a new card --> https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis...nload.html
I believed the 1060 and the 2060 drew power in a comparable way.
