I acquired a mini-ITX motherboard equipped with dual gigabit LAN ports. I've observed others using static link aggregations and successfully connected it with this modem, so I aimed to set up a SLA between two modem ports and my pfSense device. Then I planned to route traffic from the 2.5G card to my 10G switch, where all equipment is linked.

I understand the setup now. The 2.5G version was intended for the local area network, correct. The X550 in a PCIe 4x configuration should handle it. I should have clarified better—my goal was just to check if it would function, not the specifics. It wasn’t built for 2.5Gbps or 5Gbps, so it would likely operate at 1Gbps when connected to a 2.5Gb or 5Gb port.
