Issue where stuttering occurs alongside FPS reduction on RTX 3070
PC specifications are as follows: CPU i7 8700 (non K), GPU RTX 3070 Eagle OC, PSU EVGA 700W (GOLD), RAM 2 x 8 (16GB) at 2400mhz, motherboard Z370 A PRO, monitor Acer KG271 at 144hz (1920 x 1080p).
I’m experiencing stuttering and FPS drops when playing games on Ultra or High settings. I’m using a 1920 x 1080p monitor, so I expected stable performance. Normally my games run smoothly between 100 and 144 fps, but I notice significant drops to under 60 fps and stuttering when navigating new areas. Despite this, I believe my hardware is adequate for high settings at 1080p.
Note: I’m not sure if the GPU is the issue, though I remain uncertain.
What version of the game is running? Is the storage device an SSD or HDD?
The game runs smoothly on SSD, regardless of whether it was installed on HDD or not once loaded.
I'm experiencing issues with Assassin's Creed Origins. The game is still optimized.
My typical FPS ranges from 70 to 80, with a peak of 130 to 140. The FPS often drops to around 30 to 40 before recovering.
It can affect certain games if they run on a slow connection. Big games will keep loading assets as you travel to different areas. I'm not claiming this is the main issue, but it might be a contributing factor when entering new parts of the map. How much space is the SSD using? If it's more than 80% full, performance will drop.
Have you attempted to reinstall the game since it was the only one with problems?
