I tried to fully uninstall all GPU drivers using DDU but received a prompt to enable Safe Mode. I opened msconfig, turned it on, and restarted the computer. My system is now in Safe Mode, yet it blocks me from entering my Windows PIN to access further settings. It repeatedly asks to “set up a pin,” but nothing appears or functions. I’m essentially locked out except for basic BIOS and troubleshooting options in Windows. Any advice would be appreciated.

Specs: 7800x3d, 7900xtx, 2x32GB Corsair Dominator 5200MHz, Samsung 990 Pro

I tried using the power button to restart, letting the system handle the issue and moving to recovery mode. It was worth a try.

It seems the system was configured to enter Safe Mode by default, rather than performing an F8 reboot beforehand.

you have two choices here: option 1 is to experience a headache and dive into the rabbit hole of winpoop 10/11, attempting to fix an unusual problem with only a 33% chance of success. option 2 involves replacing the faulty drive, cleaning up Windows on the new one (works with any storage type), restarting after shutdown, backing up data before reinstalling everything except the necessary drivers. After setup, clone your HDD into the broken drive using tools like Clonezilla to get a fresh system with just updated drivers, then format the spare disk and set up snapshots on another drive for disaster prevention. Option 2 might seem time-consuming, but it’s actually quicker than trying to fix Windows issues and will help you recover faster. I personally prefer Linux as my main system—if you don’t want to deal with weird troubleshooting, it’s likely you’ll face failure.

You must have a Windows installation USB. Then use bcdedit to eliminate the safeboot indicator.

Safe mode should be available in the DDU settings. Choosing it will cause a restart without needing to press F8.
