Issue reported with Dell Venue 11 Pro (7139) performance.
Hi everyone,
this laptop has been with me for a while now. I used to find it very fast until I got my custom-built PC. Now I think it might be slow, and I’m not sure if it’s always that way or just my expectations. Could anyone help me speed it up? I have an SSD and a hard drive, but the hard drive seems to be the issue.
Thanks!
do you know which ssd to choose to improve speed a bit?
hi everyone,
i was wondering if anyone knows whether i can install the new nvme m.2 ssd on my dell venue laptop. my current ssd isn’t very fast, and if it’s compatible, it could really boost performance.
thanks in advance!
I'm currently at work, but I'll check it later when I'm home. You can search Dell's site using your service tag to find more details. My instinct is it's a SATA-only M.2 slot, though I might be mistaken. For this machine, a bigger SATA M.2 would be better. It's an AIO tablet, so performance shouldn't improve much with a NVMe switch.
When the system runs slowly on an SSD, adding a faster one won't make it significantly quicker. Comparing an older tablet to a modern desktop isn't fair. A fresh Windows installation might offer some improvement.
Dell only mentions it's an "NGFF SSD." I didn't find more details. It might be in the manual, but I'm not checking that part.
