Hello Everyone. I recently upgraded my network card and installed a new router professionally. (It was ten years old) But in the past few days I've faced a very unstable network connection on my desktop. Until last week I had no issues and maintained a perfect 100/100 connection via Wi-Fi. However, something changed last week and suddenly my internet became very unstable, with frequent speed drops and even disconnections. This issue only affects me and my main PC. I've checked the drivers, wiped my drive, and reinstalled Windows, but I still can't identify the cause. If anyone has dealt with something similar or knows a solution, please let me know. Best regards, Magnus Dahl from Denmark.
Change the Wi-Fi channel on your router, but keep in mind this won’t cause a full disconnect. It might just be a minor issue—Wi-Fi could still work, but the connection might be unstable. Make sure you identify what’s actually failing before assuming a problem.
Discover what’s really going on with your WiFi. It might seem reliable for a long time, but a sudden change can really disrupt it. I think someone possibly placed another wireless router on the same frequency, causing interference. This could explain why your connection drops. If your WiFi is disconnecting, it’s important to determine whether the issue lies with the WiFi itself or your internet service. They are different problems.
Occasionally the connection fails and when it works it displays "no acces" due to proxy configurations (as shown in the photo). I can switch the channel on my router, but do you think that is the issue since I don’t face any problems with other devices? Thank you.
It seems the system is only connecting to the 2.4GHz network and not the 5GHz one. This might be due to driver issues.
because these issues arise often, the main focus should be on ensuring your 5GHz router is AC-powered and compatible with your card. what router and wifi card are you using? without knowing your internet setup or the specific configurations, it’s best to follow the router manual and consult your ISP for guidance.
Wireless A and N operate on 5GHz frequency. The N reaches its maximum speed of around 450Mbps, though that’s the advertised limit. I recall using an N900 wireless card to verify this.
I recently bought a new (asus pce-ac51 ac750) and it has been working great up until last week. but now I can barely do anything with the wifi. However if I connect a lan-cable to the router no problem 100/100 connection. I can't log into my router either maybe there is something wrong with that (the router)? I just figured out I can't do that on any of my other devices like I normally would. Maybe I should just call the company who I bought the new router from? And ask them if this a common problem and if they know what is wrong?
