Hi, I'm trying to figure this out too. I just started playing The Witcher 2 on my laptop connected to an external TV. At the highest graphics settings (1080p), it's running around 100-120 frames per second. But when I switch to the external screen, the FPS drops drastically to only 10-20. I've tried forcing the game to use the dedicated GPU and adjusting settings, but nothing seems to help. The TV is 1360x768 resolution, so it should be better. The graphics card usage in MSI Afterburner drops when connected to the TV, yet changing the settings doesn't improve it. Also, I've made sure the TV is the only display, and the laptop's screen stays off when using HDMI. Can you help me resolve this issue?

Specs: Lenovo Omen 15 Ryzen 5 4600H GTX 1650 Ti 8GB RAM

Adjust the resolution to 1280x720 in the game. It should run at the native monitor size (1366 x 768). If that doesn’t work, connect the laptop to the monitor first, then configure the game settings. Try changing the video adapter or checking the NVIDIA control panel/Windows settings to ensure the GPU is set as the main driver.

You checked the frame rate yourself or based on your own impression. If the actual numbers are low, there might be an issue. When you connected your PC to the Samsung 65" NU8000, it started at 30 frames per second by default. After some adjustments, enabling UHD Color (HDR) on the HDMI port changed it to 120 fps, which made a noticeable difference. It was puzzling since you weren’t using HDR and didn’t expect that setting to affect the refresh rate.

Do you have distinct cables for each connection, or are they identical? It could be an issue with the cable itself.

I verified the frame rate using MSI afterburner, which provided the figures. Then I linked the laptop to the television via an HDMI cable.

The television operates at 60 hertz, and the laptop correctly identifies its frequency.

Consider using another HDMI cable and matching your laptop's display settings to its resolution.

Could you clarify if you mean other types of games or just different resolutions? I need more details to address your question accurately.

Yes, you can capture the video and share it online without needing a cable, similar to how YouTube works.
