Issue occurring during gameplay on a 4K display while functioning properly on a 1080p screen.
I’m experiencing random screen blackouts followed by a restart, especially when using a 1080p display. This behavior isn’t typical for my system. Could you clarify if this happens only at certain resolutions or under specific conditions?
For my electronics I’m not familiar with all the details. The issue with my electronics before was the circuit breaker tripping during gameplay after upgrading, but now it doesn’t trip at all. This problem lasted about two weeks—could it have damaged my computer components? The breaker is a Square D homeline 20-amp model.
An electrician visited to check the circuit's current, and it consistently reached a maximum of six amps.
A computer should not be able to trip a breaker by itself. That's another story if there are other appliances plugged in the same circuit. When you upgraded from the 3060ti to the 7900xtx, did you reinstall windows or at least uninstall the nvidia drivers with DDU ? There is a possibility of conflict between the two drivers. Not the first time I seen it happen. As for the 4k monitor, unless it is really really defective, it only communicates with the computer via an hdmi or DP cable. Should not draw any significant power from that. Hope that helps !
Aha! It seems the issue could be the power draw. A 650w gaming PC typically uses around 6 AMPS, which may strain household power supply. Just a heads-up—I’m not liable for any harm to your home or device. Hope this clears things up!
The setup includes a 20-amp circuit and an 850-watt power supply.
It mentioned that a 6 AMP output is available from the wall outlet on that plug.
