Sorry, I haven't replied much lately because finals are coming up and I don’t have much time. I’ve been checking out the software, but I didn’t notice anything specific. I can share a screenshot of my current settings on the throttle stop program, though I can’t find a setting called “turbo power limits” in BIOS. The ones displayed are just the defaults after downloading.
The current configuration is the turbo boost settings, but I would like to revert to my 5.0 (4.9) GHz options if that works better.
I just ran the test bench in the throttlestop program. What I’m confused about is that the limit reasons screen shows a constant EDP OTHER under the (ring) line. I looked it up, and someone said it’s fine if it’s yellow, but red means throttling. Now the issue pops up—its red (thanks!) and it switches from yellow to red, but mostly stays red. How can there be a throttle problem only when I start a game? It hits 70 degrees, then goes back to 40-50, but the EDP OTHER keeps showing up and can’t clear.
Could the issue stem from low-quality thermal paste? Even if temperatures stay moderate, it might affect performance. I haven’t replaced it since purchasing my PC, which is more than two years old.
For optimal ThrottleStop functionality, turn off Windows 11 Virtualization Based Security and disable core isolation memory integrity. These protections are essential if you prioritize peak performance. Follow the instructions on beebom.com to remove the ThrottleStop.INI file after rebooting and share a new screenshot for verification.
It isn't a thermal throttle; it could be a different issue. Possibly a current constraint is being reached.
