Issue involving audio alerts at unusual playback rates on the banking portal
HI. I encountered a customer using Nedbank who experiences an audible notification when idle, indicating a timeout in 5 minutes. The issue occurs consistently across different PCs, though it seems to be more noticeable on one laptop (X1 Carbon by lenovo). When the audio alert plays, it says "your nedbank session will time out in 2 minutes," but instead of playing at normal speed, it speeds up to 3x or 4x. This makes it difficult to notice. Her X1 had a motherboard problem, so she switched to another laptop, and I created a clone for the new one, but the issue still persists.
What I have attempted:
- Tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) – not related to Google profile.
- Reloaded audio drivers on the old laptop.
- Reinstalled all drivers on the new laptop.
- Checked all audio settings available.
The problem continues and I’ve reached out to Nedbank, but it appears unrelated to their website since it works on other devices.
I’m unsure how to resolve this and my customer is becoming increasingly frustrated. I’ve been working on this for over a year.
My customer has a large amount of data and apps with individual settings. Reloading the system takes too long, and creating a new profile might cause further issues.
Can someone suggest what I can try or review to fix this problem?
