I felt a sudden happiness yesterday, right after switching a Winamp skin. The issue came back immediately. It wasn’t the skin itself, but just the color change: I used the "Drone" skin and changed from "Game: Post Nuclear RPG2" to "Contributed: Maggi - 05". Then, I double-clicked the 360 Chrome browser and it restarted without the blue screen this time. It’s a bit strange, but it seems to work now.

I’ve grown tired of this tech nonsense. Today I opened my PC and removed the SATA cable from the DVD. I kept the other one in, though. After more than 30 attempts—using or not using any Winamp skin or color theme—I no longer saw the blue screen or sudden restarts. This new DVD definitely has a conflict with the browser, though I can’t explain why. How could a hardware part unrelated to software affect its behavior?

Talking about Winamp and its skins brings up other issues too. Some color themes from the "Drone" skin cause lag in certain maps of Unreal Tournament. The game doesn’t run smoothly with those themes—only specific ones do. I changed the problematic theme to another one, restarted the game with the same settings, and no lag appeared. This is... I don’t even know how to describe it.

It would be helpful to adjust the registry settings as discussed earlier and switch your system from IDE to AHCI mode. This might resolve the DVD compatibility problems you're experiencing.
