No, I am not 100% certain this is a browser issue. Have you tried Firefox?
The core count situation you mentioned earlier is an indication of a hardware issue. You also added a new device. Trying to isolate the problem is the goal here.
Been many years since I used XP. As I recall, you started system in IDE mode and then modified the registry. Then upon restart you accessed the BIOS and changed to AHCI. Save. Restart into Windows. That is the basic process as I remember it.
Not difficult, but necessary if you are changing modes.

Firefox isn't functioning well on XP for a long time, which is why MyPal was developed. Similar to how Google Chrome doesn't work on XP since I don't recall the exact version, the previous working release was 49. If memory helps, that's why developers made 360 Chrome, also known as 360 Extreme Explorer.

I might need to upgrade my PC to fix both the CPU core problems—though they're no longer an issue now, but could arise later—and the DVD issues. With a new PC that supports XP x64 properly, I think these problems should disappear, aren't they?

Otherwise, I suspect I'm stuck with the need to always keep 360 Chrome open, not closing it and restarting it multiple times during the day, since that's the only way to avoid the blue screen and reboots...

About two decades ago, I experienced a comparable problem. Upon launching the browser, the computer would freeze or shut down entirely. After replacing some components, I identified the GPU as the culprit. Once a different one was installed, the issue resolved.

The GPU?? Damn! I thought my issue was strange...!
Are you absolutely certain it was the GPU? If so, what’s the reason? How could a GPU cause such problems, since it shouldn’t affect the browser’s normal operation...?
I’m not denying you, but I just want to point out... these computers are even more confusing and troublesome than we thought at first.

Yes, of course. I attempted the installation at least five times before, and each time it would say something like "the procedure could not be found in the DLL library" or similar EYP messages. Quite funny, huh? Similar to many other software out there, it might not contain adware or malware, but it is full of false promises. I have probably downloaded over 30 programs over the years, all claiming to work on XP (whether 32-bit or 64-bit), and when trying to install them, they always came up with all sorts of excuses that nothing would work.

It's strange. Uncertain about why the GPU was the issue and why it mostly occurred when opening the browser. I had replaced the RAM and power supply, yet the freeze persisted. After removing the GPU and installing it on my son's PC, the system still froze. Could anyone clarify why a GPU would lead to this situation?

Because I usually steer clear of hardware troubles, I didn’t disconnect the DVD yet. Instead, I did something else. I searched for "PAGE_DEFAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and found a potential memory allocation issue. I adjusted the paging file to 8189 MB, which seems sufficient. Not knowing what else to try, I began wondering if I was on the wrong path all along—perhaps it’s actually a browser problem, not the DVD itself. It makes sense that a DVD writer, which is a hardware device, shouldn’t cause such software issues. Also, MyPal functions perfectly. Eventually, I accessed the Compatibility tab in the 360 Chrome browser and set it to Windows XP. About 30 minutes ago, I restarted the browser at least 20 times, and no blue screen or similar errors appeared!

Is it possible that THIS was the real issue? What do you think?

Keep monitoring it for now.
It's likely you noticed some related symptoms before. The DVD part was only there to eliminate that possibility.
If something changes and you encounter a problem, it's normal to check that first.
