Hello everyone,
Microsoft has recently verified a problem impacting Windows 11 users who upgraded to version 24H2 using external media before the patch release. The issue primarily affected those who installed the October and November updates prior to the upgrade. I am among those experiencing similar difficulties.

My experience was as follows: I was running Windows 11 version 23H2 and faced certain system problems, which led me to initiate an upgrade. After mounting the 24H2 ISO, the installation proceeded without issues. Yet, yesterday I realized that Windows Update was malfunctioning—it kept trying to check for updates repeatedly.

Microsoft has recognized this concern and provided a suggested solution. However, the recommended fix is a full operating system reinstallation. Since I installed 24H2 after the December patch was released, I’m unsure if this workaround will address my problem.

Moreover, I lack confidence in performing a complete reinstall via USB, and I’m reluctant to proceed at this stage. Microsoft has assured a resolution by January, which leaves me uncertain:
- Should I wait for a fix from January?
- Or try mounting and installing a new ISO, even though I doubt it will help?

I appreciate any advice you can offer.

Best regards,
Anderson
