Issue encountered with Unifi AP LR module.
Hello, your Unifi AP isn’t behaving as expected. It seems to work properly when connected straight to the router but not when plugged into an Ethernet port elsewhere in your home. This could be due to network configuration differences or interference from other devices. Check the AP’s settings and ensure it’s properly connected and that there are no conflicting networks nearby.
I'd verify the termination and confirm the PoE injector's placement.
The PoE setup follows the guidelines provided, and "termination" refers to the connection point at the end of the cable. To verify it, check the documentation or inspect the physical connections for proper configuration.
Yeah, if the PoE injector works when plugged directly into the router but not when plugged in your wall run, the wall run of ethernet cable seems to be culprit. You would need a Ethernet cable tester (will tell you if it's wired correctly or if cable is broken). The free option is to remove the wall plate and check the punchdown layout. The testers are better though (Will tell you of a wire break or not)
PoE needs proper wiring connections. Unlike signal lines, power-in/out must match exactly and deliver the right voltage. There’s a question about how far Ethernet runs and where the PoE injector should be placed—perhaps a diagram would help. It’s possible significant voltage loss along the cable could prevent the correct voltage from reaching the device.
