Hello, your new gaming PC setup is looking good. The Ryzen 5 7600X is cooling well with the Noctua NH-L12S in the Fractal Ridge case. When idle it stays cool at 55-70°C, but during gameplay and stress tests it reaches 80-95°C. You applied a small amount of thermal paste and secured the cooler properly. Need advice on optimizing performance or lowering temperatures further?

It's a straightforward explanation. The 7600x is a 105W component, and the cooler model from Noctua supports up to 95W. Even though AM5 tends to run hotter due to its design, they increased thickness to accommodate older AM4 models without requiring a full replacement. AMD acknowledges this heat level as typical. Yup mini ITX tends to get warm. You might want to reattach the cooler using a bit more paste. It seems it's still good quality, so you probably don't need to fully flush out the old residue. You could identify the thin areas and fix them gradually. Welcome to the mini ITX community!

The temperatures are typical for that kind of CPU. Just keep it below 100-110 and it's okay. If you're concerned about heat, the best solution is a water cooler.

It's likely you can swap a 15mm fan for a 25mm model. You might also consider replacing it with a higher-speed 25mm fan, or even adding another 25mm unit. The mounting option for AMD AM5 is worth checking. Updated: October 21, 2023 by leclod
