Following the Windows 8.1 update, I’m experiencing connectivity issues and excessive CPU usage during certain tasks, aside from Explorer.exe. There’s a concern about possible mining or botnet activity, and I’m unable to enable my firewall. What steps should I consider?

Reinstall Windows... execute Ccleaner, MalwareBytes, additional antivirus tools. if you manage to resolve the issue, I'll follow the file path and fix it.

They run as background apps and can't be removed or stopped. When I try to close them in Task Manager, they just restart immediately. Do you have another way to reinstall Windows, especially since it seems to be stuck?

Recovery is a normal occurrence when updates fail or are defective from the start. It relies on a restoration point saved before the update. Changes apply mainly to Windows, updates, and could influence software installed after the last backup.
