Issue detected when running Apex with RX5700, error reported.
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to share this issue since I recently got Apex and am encountering the "0x887a0006 DXGI hung error." It pops up unexpectedly, sometimes causing the game to crash or even damaging my PC, requiring a full reset.
It looks like the problem is mainly related to NVIDIA hardware, which is confusing because my graphics card is an RX5700. All other components are well within spec (Ryzen 3600 CPU, 16GB RAM, 850w PSU).
I’ve tried several solutions so far:
- Making sure drivers are current
- Reverting to previous driver versions
- Adding a specific registry entry in the graphics drivers folder
- Checking game files regularly
- Running the game as an administrator from Steam (it worked for about 30 minutes before failing)
- Deleting and reinstalling the game completely
It’s also important to note that my system isn’t overclocked or underclocked, and I haven’t attempted any changes.
Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’m really enjoying the game, but these crashes are becoming too frequent and worry me about how often my PC resets itself.
Hey, thanks for your prompt response—I really appreciate it.
Your motherboard is an ASUS X470-PRO with BIOS version 5406. The PSU you have is a Corsair TX750M, model RPS0070. It's noted that the wattage might be incorrect, but 750 watts should still be sufficient in your opinion.
Absolutely, I haven't experienced this problem before with any other title, not even those that aren't directly related to Titanfall 2.
Hello, thank you for your message. I'm here to help.
Please note that your system is running BIOS version 5406.
ASUS Prime series motherboards are designed to fully utilize AMD and Intel processors. They feature strong power systems, effective cooling, and smart tuning options, offering daily users and DIY builders various performance adjustments.

Also, you have pending BIOS updates—consider upgrading gradually to the latest version.
What is your current Windows 10 version?
I'll check the BIOS updates, thanks. I'm thinking it's probably better to wait for the newest release. My PSU is around three years old. I set up the system in summer 2019, maybe it's time for an upgrade.
The operating system is Windows 10, and the latest version has received decent reviews of 11, so I won't switch until necessary.
The OS is running at 21H2. It's recommended to stick with the current version to prevent any issues, especially if there have been changes from one BIOS update to another. Not all BIOS versions are suitable for processor or memory overclocking or stability. They might be related to power delivery on the board.
Hey, sorry for the delay.
I've made some BIOS updates and am unsure if I have enough knowledge to fix any problems. The last update (version 5809) caused the PC to restart because of a black screen, and I'm not sure if it's running slower now. There are mixed reports about whether updating is safe, especially since my X470-PRO doesn't support flashback features. I'd really appreciate some advice on how to avoid damaging my PC.
