The system encountered issues verifying signatures, preventing updates. The trusted key is stored in an older GPG configuration file. Verification failed due to missing public key information. Pop!_Shop displayed this error.

If this group hasn’t refreshed their branding, it might simply reflect what actually occurred. It’s also concerning that it’s the fourth instance. Major Holliday in the USA

Your device appears to indicate that app signatures aren’t current. This might mean the updates are correct but your system is faulty, or it could be that signatures are outdated. In the latter scenario there’s little you can do since it’s the 4th of July—a significant holiday in the United States. There’s probably no one available to resolve this issue. You might disable signature checks, but that introduces a serious security risk. It’s better to wait until the following day. It’s also conceivable your computer is damaged. If signatures from nearly all programs fail, your internet connection would likely be nonfunctional.

ProtonVPN has refreshed its GPG key, but PopOS can't validate it since the key is now outdated. Refer to the guide at https://askubuntu.com/questions/1350266/...proton-vpn for uninstalling ProtonVPN and manually installing the update (steps match PopOS instructions). If issues persist, reach out to ProtonVPN support.

I should have considered that earlier. I don’t use VPNs often.
