Hello, I'm facing some challenges with my Surface Pro 7. A few months ago, I cleaned its drive using CCleaner to optimize and free up space. Unknowingly, I deleted important drivers for power management, battery monitoring, and the battery display. It’s frustrating because I thought fixing this would be simple, but it hasn’t been. I’ve tried resetting the device to the last Windows update, soft and hard resets, reinstalling Windows 11, adding the installation media, and downloading the latest drivers. Still, the battery icon and related drivers don’t work properly. I’m stuck and unsure what to do next. The guides I’ve checked keep showing the drivers installed, but they’re either hidden or not functioning. There’s no hidden driver under Device Manager, and the only noticeable problem is the Surface Serial Hub Driver with an error code indicating a power failure. I’m struggling after several support chats with Microsoft, and I really need assistance to restore full functionality. This isn’t a critical issue—I can still use my Surface—but the daily problems are impacting my experience.

CCleaner. I’m curious if that term will ever be accepted by the general public rather than considered offensive language. Back in the day, there were many Windows versions where Cleaner was really useful. Those times are behind us. Nowadays, apps like McAfee and others that were popular once feel risky compared to modern standards. I’d prefer a fresh install along with updating BIOS and drivers, and after that, remove Cleaner completely. Did you save a restore point?

I used to rely heavily on CCleaner, but now it seems unnecessary. After recent events, I think it’s best to keep it away. Still, I’ve reinstalled the OS several times and updated all Surface Pro 7 drivers and firmware, though I haven’t managed to restore my battery icon or drivers.

I attempted this three times, but it didn't work. Suggest another approach.

It's understandable to feel let down when things don't go as planned. It seems like the cleanup might not have been perfect, and there could be some unexpected factors at play.

It seems you probably need to perform a clean installation of Windows instead of an upgrade. Wipe the storage and set up Windows again. This is because I believe you removed the internal drivers that manage those features.

Yes, everything is current. All drivers and firmware are up to date. Still puzzled about why no new battery drivers were added. This makes me unsure about the next steps.

I also performed this task. I cleared my computer completely and downloaded a brand-new setup straight from Microsoft's server through the cloud. But it didn't work.
