I assembled a fresh build recently, and it operates normally unless I interact with the case which then triggers a reboot. I suspect a short circuit or power supply problem. Checking the PSU confirms stable voltage and no visible motherboard screws outside the designated area. Other potential causes for a short could include loose connections or faulty components. MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x with stock AMD Wraith Prism cooler (CPU_Fan connector) GPU: EVGA 2070 Super XC Gaming PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 (80 Plus Gold) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB 3600 Case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500 Fans: 2 200mm front (CPU_Opt connector) 1 120mm fan rear of case(Sys Fan 1 connector) 1 140mm fan top of case (Sys Fan 2 connector). Should I turn off fans other than the CPU and test?

You're asking about the various ways of touching a case, such as applying force, light contact, or barely brushing it. Also, whether this happens uniformly across the entire surface.

I interact with the left side of the enclosure (featuring a glass panel) which restarts the system. I positioned the nine motherboard standoffs inside (two were already there) and secured the board during installation. I plan to test another power connection and a different UPS to identify any potential problems.

My UPS uses APC Backups. I believe I isolated it by touching the removable magnetic dust filter at the top of the case. This is my first time with one, but could the filter on a metal case be causing the problem? I looked for similar issues online but didn’t find any answers.

they didn’t seem to create something similar, you can definitely take it out to check if it helps. The ups or outlet doesn’t have any GFCI, and when you touch the case it behaves just like pulling the cord.

After taking out the dust filter, I can now access the case freely without any problems. It's unclear if I fully fixed the minor problem, but removing it seems to have helped. Using the top fans as exhaust vents suggests the filter might not be functioning properly.
