Hey there! I saw your setup and the drop in performance is definitely worth checking. It sounds like the power plan change might be the issue. Trying the "ASUS Recommended" plan again could help restore stability and boost frame rates. Let me know if you need more tips!

@Joshua K. The Windows High Performance power plan is a concealed option on many laptops. Once you stop using it, it vanishes. Consider using ThrottleStop to view hidden power settings. Share some screenshots and include a log file if you're not seeing optimal performance. Updates to Windows or BIOS might alter power limits, affecting speed. Certain ThrottleStop information may indicate the issue.

I attempted to activate the "High Performance" setting, but it didn’t yield noticeable improvements. It might only increase by a small margin, not revert to the original configuration. I’ve included a screenshot and a text file for reference. Your situation isn’t uncommon—please review the details and let me know if you’d like further guidance. 2023-03-25.txt

I’ve attached the FIVR and TPL screenshots for your reference. Your system is running slower than usual, and I’m still trying to figure out the cause.

They arrived here. Your support means a lot to me. I was wondering what factors might be causing the delay and slowness.

The initial image indicates the CPU is active yet operating at roughly half its optimal performance. Were you engaged in a game or was your machine mostly idle when you captured this? Launch the Task Manager at idle on the desktop and check for any background tasks heavily utilizing CPU resources. Consider turning off Windows 11 Virtualization Based Security, including core isolation memory integrity settings. https://beebom.com/how-disable-virtualiz...indows-11/ After applying these changes, restart your system and remove any existing ThrottleStop.INI configuration file before applying ThrottleStop. This file may become corrupted when VBS is enabled. Execute a benchmark such as Cinebench R23, capture a snapshot of ThrottleStop while the CPU is active during the test, and review the results. Compare your scores with online databases to find relevant comparisons. The 12650H model is relatively new, but you may find comparable performance data. Also, examine the ThrottleStop Limit Reasons window for any red indicators suggesting throttling. Save a snapshot if you notice any performance restrictions. A functioning computer is important, but it must also deliver solid speed.

The image I captured was taken when the machine wasn’t busy. At idle it typically shows about 4% consumption, with no one process running heavily. I removed throttlestop.ini and restarted without enabling VBS. The attached picture shows the throttle stop (including limits) while R23 was active. Cinebench is around 95%, leaving the rest for other tasks such as Chrome and Task Manager.

I also tested Cinebench R23 completely and achieved a score of 13525, which is significantly higher than my previous result of around 11000. Nonetheless, I'm still experiencing lower FPS.

@Joshua K. Noted. Your CPU is overheating and experiencing throttling, which lowers performance and leads to uneven results. This laptop appears to be relatively new. The heatsink and fan may require cleaning; it seems the design might not support optimal cooling. Running Cinebench won’t fully utilize the GPU, and GPU heat adds to the load during extended gaming sessions. VR CURRENT throttling is a more critical issue—voltage regulators may not supply enough power, especially if they’re underpowered. Intel mobile H series CPUs originally had a 45W TDP rating. If Asus uses regulators matching this spec, operating at higher loads could cause trouble. VR CURRENT throttling can drastically slow the CPU and keep it under pressure until regulators cool. If these symptoms are recent, prolonged heat could have damaged the voltage regulators. Try running a game for 15 minutes on ThrottleStop, then exit to let logs complete. Check the log file in ThrottleStop/Logs for details on CPU temperature and performance. Please quote me in your reply so I can stay updated.

The laptop seems to be struggling with heat after just a week of use. It was running smoothly before, but recently it's slowed down noticeably. The temperature drop suggests the power components might have been affected.
