I recently changed my hardware from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 9 5950x with more RAM and a new graphics card. I kept the old PSU since the new one wasn’t delivered yet. Everything else except the motherboard was replaced. After installing the new parts, I noticed a yellow error LED on the RAM and no display output. I tested all slots, tried different RAM sticks, but the issue persisted. When I swapped the CPU, the same problem appeared. I’m unsure if the CPU is faulty or if another component is causing the problem. Updated January 4, 2024 by ETECHPLAYER
The B450 boards are not compatible with Ryzen 5000 right from the start. This is probably why it’s not working properly—most likely causing unexpected failures or strange errors.
It seems the issue is likely with the 5950X, and your board won’t handle it. Running at all is unexpected.
On the QVL, features that work well in Zen 1 or 2 could cause issues in Zen 3.
The 5000 series typically featured a superior memory controller compared to Zen 1 and Zen 2. It would be unusual for the same memory to function well on the 2600 but not the 5950X, suggesting the forum user is likely using an older BIOS than the F60, which supports the 5000 series.
