Hello everyone, I've been checking the "No POST/No power up" discussion and looking through the forum for similar problems, but nothing came up. I'm replacing my old HP 800 G1 office setup with a new one, and I noticed something odd: when the GPU is connected to the motherboard, the system powers on, the CPU and GPU fans begin spinning, but after a short time the VGA error light activates. Then the CPU error light flashes briefly and the system restarts, repeating this cycle. If I remove the GPU from the motherboard, the computer still starts but doesn't power up at all—it just shows the VGA error light, which is normal for my CPU model. I can see my keyboard's caps key lighting up and turning off. Troubleshooting steps I've tried:
- Disconnected everything and reconnected, including the CPU, cooler, RAM, and checking all connections.
- Cleared CMOS by jumping the motherboard pins per the manual.
- Tried booting with only the GPU plugged in and no other devices, even testing unusual setups suggested by someone on an MSI forum.
- Confirmed the GPU is functioning properly since it's the one I'm using on this old system.
- Verified the PSU works, having tested it with another older machine.
- Tested the X16 PCIe slot by connecting a X1 WiFi Adapter (no GPU here), but no restarting occurred. The adapter's network lights blinked.
Possible reason: It might be that the GPU and motherboard aren't agreeing on the correct PCI-e version. I see a note in the No POST/No power up thread suggesting to set the X16 slot to 3.0 in BIOS, but I can't access that without entering the BIOS myself.

- Motherboard: MSI PRO H610M-G DDR4 911-7D46-008
- CPU: Core i5 12400F with stock cooler
- RAM: Single channel, 1x16GB Patriot Signature Premium DDR4-3200 PSD416G320081
- PSU: Azza 650W 80 Plus Bronze (tested)
- GPU: XFX AMD RX 550 4GB (tested)

I'm unsure whether to file a warranty claim, as it could be a minor compatibility quirk with my GPU. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the latest update instructions. This should resolve the problems. Have you tried using a single stick of RAM?

It's unclear if an update is feasible without iGPU or dGPU support. You mentioned using just one GPU stick and tested both RAM slots on the motherboard.
