The video performs best when viewed at high frame rates. Monitoring the FPS counter in the top left will indicate performance changes. The image confirms rendering has stopped. I’ve updated the GPU drivers and game patch, turned off VSync, and set the default medium settings after a reinstall. My system is a 4770k (Stock) with 970GB RAM and 24GB of memory. Assistance needed!

That's unusual... Other titles seem to function normally. I've noticed a problem with WT after a patch—MSI Afterburner lets you control FPS, but it doesn't work in War Thunder anymore while it worked well in my Valley Benchmark. I'm confused since I didn't make any changes.

Adjust the maximum number of pre-rendered frames to 1 in the Nvidia Control Panel for WT.

Someone suggested removing the config.bak file, but that didn’t help. Afterburner doesn’t show an on-screen display in WT for a reason, which might be why FPS isn’t limited. I’m confused—my game runs smoothly, but I want to cap my FPS at 65 for a steadier feel. The frames don’t jump too high then drop back down. I’m not sure how to fix this in War Thunder since the 1.61 update. It’s really frustrating.

I opened the Nvidia 3D settings and now for WT I enable adaptive Vsync but skip the in-game version. My maximum frame rate is now capped at 60, not 65 as before. The refresh rate on this monitor comes out as a peculiar 75hz. For recording, I kept it near 65 to avoid frame drops below the 60 fps threshold. In some games, like Witcher 3, it works fine without a frame limiter, though I still use it for consistency. Certain titles such as AC: Sydicate don’t require it, even if you run benchmarks on them.

I observed some changes in my GPU settings after the 1.61 patch. I had to reset everything and then everything improved—MSI functioned properly again. It seems like the adjustments were necessary, and now performance is stable without any limits. Confused but relieved!
