I just completed assembling my new machine. It’s a Ryzen 5700X3D paired with a 6700XT. The issue I’m facing is that the PC powers down based on the game, leaving only the RAM indicators and motherboard RGB lights active. This has occurred since the first or second day. At first, I assumed the power supply connections were faulty, so I checked them, then updated the GPU drivers. After updating the BIOS, the problem still exists. For instance, I can run Red Dead 2 at high settings with 1440p resolution, 99% GPU usage, and 40% CPU load without shutdowns. But when switching to Need for Speed Heat, the PC stops before reaching the game menu. This pattern repeats with Mafia Definitive Edition, War Thunder, and even older titles like Saints Row 4, which crashes in the menu and completely shuts down in games like Need for Speed Pro Street. The system just powers off entirely. I’ve performed stress tests such as FurMark, and the PC remains operational.

Your PC specs: Ryzen 5700X3D, 6700XT, 32GB RAM DDR4, 3600MT, Corsair Vengeance 1TB SSD, GIGABYTE 600W PSU, White case, Corsair 4000D, Windows 11.

This smells of a bad PSU to me. While the wattage is likely fine, it may not be able to handle momentary spikes in draw that happen under certain conditions.

You're asking if it's a typical problem. There are many discussions about it on the NFS Heat help forum from around 2020. You might want to try reinstalling the game and see if that resolves the issue. Have you made sure your graphics drivers are up to date?

It's occurring across various titles rather than limited to one specific game.

This afternoon I tried DDU, reinstalled the GPU drivers, but the issue continues. I notice a faint electrical buzz in the power supply—might it be faulty?

This would be the best place to begin personally. A white PSU probably isn't worth using, so I'd opt for a solid bronze or gold model. Sharing a budget and purchasing options would help pick a suitable replacement.

I have about $100 to spend. I’m flexible on design details, and I might purchase it from Amazon.

If you could take the PC to a repair shop, I’d recommend it. I faced an issue that worsened over time—starting with restarts or shutdowns while gaming, then shifting to random behavior when idle. It turned out the motherboard was the problem, and I had to replace parts to identify the exact cause.

All signs indicate my power supply is reaching the end of its life. In the BIOS of my motherboard (Aorus Master X570S), I turned off the power loading option. This has been a short-term fix, but I realize I must replace the power supply eventually. Appreciate any advice you can offer.
