I recently replaced my graphics card with the built-in graphics of my Intel CPU and after reinstalling everything, the system won’t boot automatically. If I manually enter the boot menu and choose Windows Boot Manager on my SSD, it works fine, but it won’t auto-start no matter what I adjust in the UEFI. When I rearrange the boot priority so the first WBM appears at the top, I end up in Windows recovery which insists on a full reinstall. I’m sure I don’t need that since I’m confident my system can boot itself. The other WBM shown in the UEFI just causes the same issue: “Reboot and select a proper boot device.” I’d like to avoid having to navigate the boot menu every time I want to restart my PC. Also, my Windows 10 installation is the only operating system installed on my machine.

Have you attempted it once more using the dedicated GPU?

The idea hadn't crossed my mind. I don't feel inclined to reinsert it just to remove it again (I'm doing this because it's tough to play on an igpu, which keeps me focused on school). I can't see how that would have led to the problem (though it's possible). I thought about unplugging my device so I could relocate it for better work, but plugging it back in caused an issue. I might replace the card, but I won't have time until Thursday at the latest.

It seems you're adjusting your system settings now. Instead of modifying a core part, consider creating a dedicated (LOCAL) account for school use—limited to programs like Chrome and Paint, with login only when needed.

It's best to remove the variables first. After that, you can proceed with the next steps.

Consider resetting the BIOS to its original settings, unless a RAID configuration is in place.

I’d really consider using myregular account. Honestly, my self-control isn’t great... but fine. I’ll let you know once I give it a shot. This won’t be my first attempt if the GPU reinstall doesn’t work. Thanks again!

Documenting the issue, I reinstalled the graphics card and it didn’t alter the problem. The system won’t start automatically, though it does when I choose the SSD as the boot device in the menu.
