Ha, fair point! Well, I start "counting the hours" after the upload is complete and playable at 360p. Uploads usually complete within 40 minutes for a 2.5Gb file. The length of the video is usually between 30-40 minutes, rarely more.
Ah, common mistake I'm sure. But unfortunate that you now have to wait for the first one before you can post the other two. Definitely lucky to have 1440p by tonight, but hey... you never know right?
I've recently started doing that. Putting my uploads as Unlisted until 1440p is ready, as no-one wants to watch 360p. But then I started having these issues with the 1440p processing. Same, my 1080p videos seemed blurry in all apsects, especially when something on-screen was moving fast.
Well, sometimes we like to imagine being rich and famous would be gravy, but it's not. The ones that get that many views are under constant pressure to keep cranking out the uploads, and any small thing can affect popularity and cause it to plummet. Plus there are many potential security and legal risks involved. I'm not saying it's fun to be poor and obscure, but there is some comfort in knowing there's not a lot of weight on our shoulders.
Whoo, hoo, HD processing has started, wish me luck! LOL If my estimations are correct, it will take about 10 hours to complete (roughly 8 PM my time). If yours are correct, it won't be done until sometime tomorrow.
I agree, though it would be great to gain popularity and get thousands of views quickly; it's better to avoid the constant pressure of producing videos every day and to have more time. Good luck then! I hope your work is on track, and if my estimates are off, I'm sure it'll be ready soon. Hopefully, my latest upload is still in the 19-hour mark for 1440p processing... I wish yours takes less time!
