Laptop model: Lenovo L3 81Y3 The touchpad isn't working anymore after I did a BIOS upgrade. What I tried: Put in fresh Windows and make sure every driver came from the Lenovo website. Even when I started up in safe mode, the touchpad still wouldn't work—it used to work before the BIOS update happened. The BIOS version was 23, now it is 31.

Update the Intel Management Engine (IME) software too. You should also download the new drivers for your Intel Serial IO and Chipset to make sure everything works smoothly with your system.

Hi, thanks so much for getting back to me! I put in the new BIOS driver, but the version number didn't change and it's still ejcn31ww. I changed out my hard drive and Windows too, updated every single driver, yet my touchpad is still acting up. I looked at it physically too. I even sent you 4 pictures with all the details so you can take a look. Can you help me please?

Your BIOS doesn't change, but if a device shows an exclamation mark in Device Manager, that means your Intel ME firmware is outdated and needs updating.

Did you turn off your touchpad in Windows settings, or is it already turned off and need you turn it back on? Here are steps on how to turn your touchpad on or off – Lenovo Support.

No, I just pressed the f12 key on my keyboard, and that opened or closed the touchpad. I tried installing Windows UEFI several times, even swapping out my SSD hard drive. It is possible to downgrade the BIOS right now. Did the new BIOS cause this problem?
