Is your Thinkpad T460 screen showing just blank space and white lines instead of an image?
Is your Thinkpad T460 screen showing just blank space and white lines instead of an image?
I have a Thinkpad T460 and the left part of the screen looks broken when it gets shaken. It starts turning into white lines. I dropped the laptop before, and there is a mark on the bottom right corner that I can't hide but it still works fine. Today I dropped it from five feet straight down onto its back side. When I turn it on now, it shows black with several white lines in the middle and on both sides too. After I type my password to log in, those same white lines show up evenly all over the screen, making some parts look blank while other parts get slowly dimmer at the corners. The screen was a bit knocked loose from its frame, so I put it back together and taped it down but that bottom part still won't stick. What should I do to fix this or do I just need to buy a new screen? Why does my computer act this way? Is it because something broke or needs fixing? Can you explain what exactly is wrong with the laptop right now?
take some pictures and upload to imgur.com or similar then post the links most likely broken screen, eventually cable from motherboard to screen broken, bezel broken https://www.ebay.com/itm/1649573259...MI...gI0CPD_BwE
Here is a version with simple words:
Take some photos and put them on imgur.com or another site. Then share the link so others can see it most likely, screen is broken or cable from motherboard to screen is broken, bezel (the frame around the screen) is also broken.
It was just an old laptop and the screen broke after I dropped it once a day. I dropped it a few times before this happened. I bought a used HP and now it breaks sometimes when I lie on my bed or put it on my lap, or hold it up in the air. This new used laptop locked me out of Windows OS. I can get to boot Linux using a USB stick, but that USB port seems broken. Thank you for all your help. My old laptop will never work properly.
