Hello, here are the details of my setup: CPU is an AMD A8-6600k with a boosted speed to 4.4GHz, GPU is an AMD Radeon R7 250 with 1GB DDR4 RAM, motherboard from ASRock FM2A88M Extreme4+, and RAM is Kingston 1600MHz single-channel. My issue seems to be unclear. I’ve joined the Valorant beta and noticed my friend’s PC runs at the same frame rate—around 50-80 FPS—which is quite low. I initially suspected a CPU bottleneck, but my CPU didn’t reach full speed either. I ran several tests: MSI Afterburner showed GPU usage between 30-50% in games, suggesting it wasn’t the CPU. I tried overclocking the CPU and saw only slight improvements without a frame increase. BurninTests revealed the CPU, RAM, and GPU all performed within normal ranges except for unusually high GPU usage during specific tests. The GPU temperature seemed normal, but fans ran at full speed without reducing load. After adding more stress tests, RAM usage dropped to 40-50%, indicating it wasn’t the bottleneck either. Eventually, the GPU usage spiked back to 95-100% when running games, especially in single-player mode where memory demands are lower. This suggests my RAM might be limiting performance. It took me nearly two weeks to figure this out. If you’re not very tech-savvy, I recommend checking your RAM speed and ensuring it matches the requirements for the game. Let me know if you need further guidance!

What's your RAM usage like in the game? If it's fully occupied, data will be saved to the hard drive, which is much slower than RAM, potentially leading to performance drops. Would you have a chance to get another 8GB—used models are affordable on the second-hand market since they're mainly DDR3.

My usage was very high, probably close to 7GB. I’m considering adding another 4GB of DDR3, but I want to be certain.

I haven't received a complete response yet. Right now, I'm just sharing what was mentioned. Honestly, having extra RAM helps, so feel free to ask. I saw used 16GB kits available for as low as 30€, which seems like the best choice. A 2x4GB setup would be next, but adding another 4GB stick isn't ideal. You might want to check with your friend first to confirm. What hardware are they using?

It's great to hear you're looking for a good deal! 16GB for 30 euros sounds solid. I'm sure you'll find something similar. Since his RAM is abroad, you might want to test your idea with DDR4 RAM from friends. It could work better!

I borrowed eight DDR3 modules from a friend and tested them, but there was no noticeable benefit. Have you considered alternative solutions?

You would allocate funds to purchase a new graphics card. 1GB of VRAM was considered standard back then. It's time to upgrade.

I didn't share this just to wait for a reply—I already know what I need.

The ram would become very limited if all 8GB were consumed. If it isn't fully used, then no memory issue is present. I don’t see any problems with the memory performance. The speed is acceptable. DDR3 is somewhat outdated but doesn’t significantly impact performance. Frame rates are more likely affected by the GPU and CPU. Your video card works well for watching videos on a workstation setup—it’s not really a gaming card. Let me know if this isn’t what you were seeking.
