Is your QuestionRender server freezing?
Hello! I have a strange problem with my computer that runs 3D graphics stuff. My parts are: Motherboard Asus Pro WS WRX80E-Sage SE WIFI, Processor AMD Threadripper PRO 5955WX on Socket sWRX8, Memory Samsung 990 PRO 1TB M.2, Power Supply 3 X Corsair HX1500i 1500W FM ATX3 PCIe5 RAM 2X Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 128GB DDR4 3600MHz CL18, Graphics Card 8X MSI nVidia GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING X TRIO 24GB (attached to the board with riser cables). GDDR6X, 384bit. I had some issues back about eight months ago and someone helped me fix it; I realized I needed more RAM. Also, I had a problem with a cable that was fixed before. My computer is used for heavy work like Cinema4d or Blender, downloading, rendering, and uploading files. Now, when I run big renders in a row, the system freezes while the graphics card stays busy. It started last night and still happens now in the morning. I looked into this some and could be about the power supply, but anyone know if there is another way to figure it out? Thank you!
The main way to see what might have happened is by looking at the system's view of things. Check Reliability History and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, or info messages right before or during those freezes. If you follow along carefully, "bigger renders" means more work from the CPU and GPU, which can make things hotter. Something could start to break down or fail because a resource runs out of room. Start by checking Reliability History first. It is easier for regular users and shows events in a clear time line that might help you spot patterns with those freezes. Event Viewer takes more time to use but gives lots of details. Sometimes the info won't be very helpful, so take your time and don't rush through everything. In both tools, any errors or messages will give you more specific information than just what is shown here.
