Hello,
I’m checking if my PSU can handle my current system. Recently, my computer has been showing Event ID 13 nvlddmkm and frequently crashing during games (usually every 10 to 120 minutes). After investigation, it seems the issue might be linked to the graphics card drivers or the card itself failing to stay on.

I’ve tried a lot of troubleshooting steps and various software fixes, even switching to another card that worked with other PCs, but the error persists. Now I’m considering hardware problems.

According to some sources, this kind of error often points to a faulty or insufficient PSU. My current setup uses:
PSU: NZXT C550 550 W
Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 4500, Asus PRIME B550M-A, RAM Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB, Storage Kingston NV2 500 GB M.2-2280, GPU GeForce RTX 2060, etc.

If you think my PSU might be inadequate or prone to issues with these components, please let me know. Thank you for your help.

The Corsair PSU calculator suggests using a 650-watt unit, but bequiet displays a 550-watt PSU at 53% load. The Seasonic calculator also lists a 550-watt PSU for that PC. It might still be sufficient, though it could be a faulty model. I’d consider getting a 650-watt one to have extra capacity and possibly purchase from Corsair or Seasonic.

The power issues may not appear immediately but can develop over time. After resetting the system, it often works for a short period before problems reoccur. This could be related to a faulty or insufficient PSU. Testing is possible, and you might need to replace the power supply if necessary.

I believe the issue might be related to the PSU, as they would probably display it immediately. Would you experience any BSODs currently? Could you proceed with option one from the link provided? Then follow the steps below: create a small memory dump during a BSOD using Windows' built-in feature, then open File Explorer, go to C:\Windows\Minidump, move the files to your Desktop, and upload them to the cloud. Share the link so we can review it together.

It's fine. The NZXT C550 Bronze is a decent entry level unit with all the required protections. 550w is plenty for a system that consumes barely 300w.
About the issues you experience; what BIOS version is the motherboard running?
AMD Ryzen often has compatibility issues with Corsair RAM. What's the exact model number and version number of the RAM?

I'm not experiencing the BSOD at the moment. After resetting Windows and reinstalling the graphics card drivers in safe mode using DDU, I haven't seen any issues.
I already have the minidump files uploaded here from a week ago (these are still quite recent):
DMP File for BSOD 9-23-2023
Folder
1drv.ms
The error appears to be linked to the driver, based on what I can see from the dump file, but all updates and reinstalls so far haven't resolved it.
I've considered updating the BIOS on my motherboard, even though it should already be up to date (it's 2806 as of 10/27/2022, while the latest is 3205 from 9/1/2023).
Your observation about the USBs is interesting—there are no disconnect sounds and both devices seem new (I bought them recently). I'm willing to try it again and let you know if it makes a difference. Thank you for the advice!

I understand, this is the same error I've encountered before, likely related to driver issues.
I attempted DDU, started it in safe mode and disabled fast startup (also disconnected from the internet until the new driver was fully installed after restarting). That resolved the problem for a short period, then it reappeared.
I'm now using the most recent NVIDIA driver.

the system starts quickly, indicating the drivers remain active during shutdown rather than being completely off.
