I recently tried using performance mode in Fortnite with all graphics settings reduced to low for 1440p and 1080p. It didn’t seem to improve my experience much, as I’m still struggling to reach over 450fps on everything in low + performance mode. They’re using newer CPUs, but it doesn’t seem like the difference is significant at these settings.

For reference, the COD image and modern warfare 2019 images show that even with high graphics settings, there’s little to no real boost in FPS at 1080p and 1440p.

It's challenging to compare various machines.
Just to verify if something is visible.
Download this.
Reboot.
Pause for a few minutes.
Execute UBM with the browser closed.
Share a LINK to the results page.

Uncertain about why it doesn't recognize the GPU, maybe try re-downloading UBM and testing again. Do you have a BIOS version from 2004? What's the latest chipset driver? Why is there all this background information? Did you wait a few minutes after rebooting before starting UBM? Was the browser closed?

I have the most recent bios and chipset information. I'm not sure what you're referring to by "background stuff."

UBM indicates 19% background processes are active.
That's significant for a new launch without a browser.
Maybe it's time to trim down your startup team.

What's the optimal method to eliminate background processes? I've restricted startup apps to essentials, yet around 25% RAM remains active with no other programs visible.

Could a new Windows update improve the situation?

Things come from many sources, so you end up following them wherever they go.
