Is your MSI laptop showing a black screen when you change graphics settings inside the BIOS?
I need to switch from an integrated graphics card to a dedicated one, but these three BIOS options are confusing me: IGFX PCH PCI HG I tried searching online what those words mean but couldn't find them so I changed the setting ito "PCH PCI" Now when I turn on my laptop the screen is just black and not showing any lights so I'm really panicking. Please help me understand this better.
so my msi laptop has an rtx 3050, intel i5 gen 11 with integrated graphics. it has 16g of ram and a ssd drive. here is the situation: i tried to change my primary display in bios by using IGFX for integrated graphics, PCH PCI for PCIE, and HG for hybrid. i wanted to switch to dedicated graphics only since the main display should be the nvidia card, but when i did that, my laptop just went black with no light coming out at all. i thought about resetting the bios but don't know how or if i have the tools needed to do it safely. another idea is using a second monitor like my TV, but i don't think there are any other options besides that and i'm sorry for being unclear T_T
I also tried that same thing with my msi laptop in the advanced option. I turned off the built-in graphics thinking it would use the dedicated GPU as the main display, but when I hit save and exit, the screen goes black and I can't even get into the bios. It's just a total black screen. So what I did was reset the bios by unplugging the cmos battery from the motherboard.
