Hey there!
I’m thinking about getting a new GPU this Christmas, likely the Rx 470. My CPU is the 6300, which will definitely create a bottleneck. Don’t worry about all those people who get stuck with bottlenecks—I plan to upgrade my CPU next year.

For my setup, I’m planning a 600w PSU and a HyperX 212. But the main concern is my motherboard. I’ve been researching for about a month and a half, but I haven’t really paid much attention to it yet.

I need some advice. My motherboard is the GA-78LMT-S2, and I’m curious about how much I can push the 6300. I want to get it to around 4 or 4.1. Some say it can safely reach 4.3 GHz, while others think it won’t overclock much at all. I’m still confused by all the debates about bottlenecks and overclocking, and it’s really confusing.

Just one thing: I want a clear answer. Yes, I can overclock it as much as I want. No, it won’t let me do anything beyond that. Or maybe somewhere in between.

Thanks for your help!

You should be able to reach up to 4 or 4.1Ghz. For more details, visit the overclock forum.
Check the overclock forum for further information.
Consider purchasing a high-quality top-down blowing design cooler, such as the one listed here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...4UF39D5213.
This cooler will help cool the CPU and also cover the VRM area. Be aware that these models typically do not include a heatsink.
When overclocking the CPU, it will generate heat, even for the FX 6300 model.
