My Asus F102BA laptop turns on right away but then shuts down again. I already changed the hard drive, but nothing works. I also replaced the CMOS battery and tried that too. Even after taking the battery out, it still won't stay on. Can anyone please help me with this?

Take the laptop off the wall outlet, take the battery out too, remove all the sticks of RAM, and hold down the power button for about 30 seconds. Use an eraser to clean the gold contacts on those RAM sticks, then wipe it with a cloth. Put the RAM back in tight. If you have two sticks at first, just put one in there. Then plug in the power adapter (not the battery) and see if the laptop turns on. If it works fine, shut down, unplug everything, put the other stick of RAM away, then turn it on again using the adapter. Once that's working, take the charger out too and swap the normal battery for a CMOS battery.

The RAM is working, so I wiped the old thermal paste from my CPU and put some new stuff. It's running fine for a couple of minutes before it shuts off. I didn't think about the hard drive at first, but when I tried a different one, it had the exact same problem.
