I put thermal paste on my CPU and GPU. When I play GTA IV, the graphics card gets very hot. I don't want to destroy my laptop. I use this thing for fun and old games. What can I do to keep it cool? My computer is a Toshiba Qosmio X300 with an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9300, Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTS, 8GB RAM.

No big deal man, though I guess this laptop is kinda old. Like, adding some new thermal paste might have made a mess or smudged onto the motherboard, which could be why it's acting up. It looks like it might just need an overhaul—something like undervolting or disabling turbo boost to cut power from 100% down to 99%, but I'm not sure if that will fix anything yet. Yeah, sorry this laptop has seen better days lol.

Go to that website and see what they say about the best thermal pastes for computers. You can look at different options and pick the one you like best. After using it, make sure your computer is clean before doing a BIOS update or driver update. Then check if the temps are okay and test it out. If everything looks good, you might want to upgrade to a new laptop model just to play newer games faster with better cooling. I took apart my computer. The thermal glue got all over the chips inside.
