Is your Google Chrome taking up too much memory because you have many open tabs?
Hi, Google Chrome uses a lot of RAM when I open more than four tabs. My job needs me to keep five to ten tabs running at once. Can you help?
if you have around 8 gigabytes of RAM, you might think you can use about half of it. my school laptop has only 4 gigabytes but I'm using like 90% of it just to look at websites. my PC here at home has 32 gigabytes and I'm only using maybe 5% for the same thing. so the main problem might be how much RAM you actually have, or maybe that guy's advice is wrong.
It depends on how much RAM you have, but this will tell... Why is Google Chrome using so much memory? Here is why that happens and what you can do about it. Why does Chrome eat up so much RAM? What should you try to fix it? How do I keep Chrome from using too much memory? Go to www.makeuseof.com
If you have like 8 gigabytes (GB) of RAM, you probably won't use all of them at once. My school laptop has only about 4 GB of RAM, but when I run websites, it uses up to 90% of the memory. However, my home PC with 32 GB of RAM is only using less than 5% when browsing. Basically, having more RAM might not help if your website doesn't need a lot, or maybe what that guy said was just right.
