My PC is freezing without warning when using a browser or in games, and even if my screen goes to sleep, the freeze happens too. The lights on the case stop working, so I can't move anything until I turn it off with the power button. It used to work fine for a couple of days after sleeping, but then suddenly freezes again later that day or within two hours. I don't know if this started happening around a few months ago because things changed back then when I built my PC 2 years ago. Maybe using two new hard drives recently made it worse? Could the second SSD cause this problem? Please help me figure out what's wrong.

Do you have all your drivers current? Are all your BIOS settings updated?

Yes everyone has fixed it, and I did this a month ago because freezing started happening too often. I changed the RAM's speed from 3200MHz down to 3000MHz in my BIOS, hoping that will stop the problem. If you have any good ideas or tips, please let me know because I would really appreciate it.

I lowered the refresh rate on my graphics card and suddenly got a blue screen error that made the computer restart on its own. The stuttering is gone, but now it crashes again. What can I do to fix this?

Run a quick test called Memtest86 to see if your RAM is working properly.

The cold is back again, two days after I turned my PC off and into sleep mode, and suddenly it froze right while I was watching some YouTube videos. It's driving me crazy; I just want to know why something like this happens so that I can fix it. Am I the only person on Earth who has this problem?

PC Specs: MB: Asus Rog Strix B550-E Gaming CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S PSU: Corsair RM850 (2021), RM Series, 850 Watt RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz (CMW16GX4M2C3200C16W) / GPU: ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 3070 TI SSD1: Crucial P5 Plus CT1000P5PSSD8 1TB (PCIe 4.0, M.2) SSD2: Fanxiang S500PRO 2TB NVMe SSD (PCIe 3.0 M.2) OS: Windows 11 Pro Ver. 23H2 I keep getting frozen without any warning signs. This happens on my desktop computer while also in the browser and inside games. It works even when my monitor is asleep, no matter where I am using it. Nothing freezes just by itself except for the LED lights on the PC case stopping from changing colors. I have to turn off my PC completely by pressing the power button or resetting it with an LED mode. Sometimes this happens after leaving my PC in sleep mode for two or three days, and then when I start using it again, it freezes maybe a few hours later. Also sometimes it just freezes in the same day (after several hours) right after I enter the BIOS settings. 🤔 I don't remember exactly what happened, possibly a few months ago. I can't really tell when or if something changed because this wasn't working before either (I built my PC two years ago). But now that the second 3.0 M.2 SSD drive was installed later, could it be causing this problem? I even ran my computer through virus and Trojan checks; yes there were two Trojans found in memory and one in the HOSTS file, but they got cleaned after a couple of days and my PC froze again right back up. I would appreciate any tips or help on what could cause this issue.

Use one stick of RAM at a time and watch if the problem keeps happening. Check your motherboard's website for new chipsets or BIOS updates. Try changing the power settings in Windows, like boosting performance. Run a file check named sfc /scannow on your computer to make sure everything is fixed.

Thanks for getting back to me. Aside from the BIOS, I changed every single thing I could think of (AMD Chipsets, drivers, etc.). You suggested checking sfc /scannow as a test; it found no problem. Yesterday, I even swapped out my RAM sticks with brand new 16x2 (32 GB) Crucial Ram ones. Since the freeze started today, that means the RAM isn't causing it. Before this, the same thing happened once in BIOS a few days ago while tweaking settings there. That makes me think Windows or other software aren't to blame; this is likely hardware-related right now? Now here are two things to try after your advice: 1) Switch to High Performance in the Windows settings. I changed the power settings to "Best Performance" right now and will tell you if it stops the freezing. If that doesn't help, then I'll try taking out one stick of RAM and seeing what happens. Thanks so much for your time and help!
