Is your computer running slower than you’d expect?
I’m expecting to see around 144 frames with no problems given my PC’s parts – let me break it down: I have an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, an Nvidia RTX 2700, 36GB of DDR4-3600 memory, and an Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard. I've already overclocked my RAM and GPU. I’m playing on a 2550x1440 144Hz monitor, and I’ve tested with and without sync enabled. I’ve also disabled Discord overlay and Nvidia Highlights, and while I can provide details about power plans if needed, I haven't really noticed much of a difference.
For instance, when I play Warzone, I usually get between 120 and 130 frames with most settings on medium to high, and the render resolution set at 80%. Lowering the settings doesn’t make a huge impact. I can provide examples from other games if you'd like.
I’m really puzzled because I thought 144 should be easily achievable with this setup, but it just won’t hit that number. A friend suggested that the RTX 2700 might not be ideal for running at 2550x1440 – maybe that's part of the issue. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Lots of games have demanding graphics settings – like in *Assassin’s Creed Odyssey*, where realistic cloud effects really took a toll on the game's speed.

I’ve looked at the guide, but I’ve tried so many different tweaks while playing – honestly, nothing seems to work. I’m still stuck around 130 most of the time. It's not just Call of Duty; I’ve noticed it happens in Apex, R6, and a bunch of other games too.

The system performed well in our testing. The AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU scored 89.2%, while the Nvidia RTX 2070 GPU hit 89.7%. Our solid-state drive, a Samsung 950 NVMe, was particularly impressive at 170.5%, and the WD Black hard drive (from 2013) registered at 90.5%. The G.SKILL RAM performed strongly at 125.7%. Interestingly, the GPU test indicated “Relative performance n/a – benchmarks incomplete,” and the motherboard tests also showed as incomplete.
A frame rate of around 120 to 130 on 1440p is pretty typical for a graphics card like a 2070. I was curious about cooling because Ryzen processors tend to run best when they’re kept really cool, but it seems like you've got that handled. So, honestly, the 2070 would probably be the biggest constraint in terms of performance.
