Hey!
Im a pretty dedicated gamer, and was lucky enough to get my hands on a 5080 (while actually trying to buy the 5070ti), and im wondering if this is a normal score for the gpu.. I´ve seen countless posts about the score being closer to 35k on the graphics side without OC or anything.
Also, im aware that the ryzen 7600 bottleneck 10-15% while gaming in 1440p, but that shouldnt really be visable in this test, - right? (With the separated gpu performance)
Anyway. Im hoping someone can give me some guidance here cuz im not really sure what to do.
EDIT: I own the ASUS RTX 5080 Prime OC

Hey! That's interesting. Most benchmarks I've seen (especially from Swedish reviewers) suggest a higher visual score. This card was also listed as MSRP there, so maybe we were fortunate!

Is the BIOS of your motherboard current? Also, do drivers from NVIDIA work?

BIOS is current, along with the nvidia drivers. My cooling setup includes three front fans, two top fans, and one exhaust fan properly aligned. The cpu stays below 65°C, while the gpu reached up to about 75°C for a brief period, then settled around 70°C. I’m curious if armorycrate and icue could be causing any issues or if another background process is affecting performance.

Well, that's essentially what others are discussing in the forums. I'm not entirely convinced. However, I've also checked benchmarks using these tests to try and understand the situation better. I looked at the FE performance results (which should be lower than the prime OC) when paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The rest of the setup is also significantly improved, though it shouldn't make such a big difference.

Cyberpunk benchmark was run with the ultra preset, and both horizon and starfield settings matched those used by reviewers. All graphics settings remained consistent.

the specifications of the review's hardware. additionally, if you have armour crate set up, you might need to enable game mode since it can limit hardware performance.

Ahh, you want to check the game mode? I’ll look it up! Thanks!
Here’s the list of the benchmarking PC specs:
Seasonic Prime-TX Noctua Edition, 1 600 W
Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Hero
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC (CPU cooler)
Two 16 GB G Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB at 6 000 MHz, with settings 28-36-36-96
Kingston Fury Renegade 2 TB
I’m not sure about the rest, but here they are:
Streacom BC1 Open Benchtable (Case)
AOC U27G3X (Monitor)
All clocks come out of the box, no overclocking or anything.

when considering 1080p and 1440p, the importance of the cpu remains only when reaching 4k; at that point it seems to start showing its limitations. the score should include your cpu so you can compare similar results with others. other methods to assess if the cpu is hindering gaming performance are checking GPU usage—if it's near full capacity, the GPU is working as close to its limit as possible. some games also depend more on CPU performance than GPU. cyberpunk or bug punk, for instance, are perceived as offering a faster cpu with more cores, which has helped reduce lag in my tests.
