Xubuntu is a complimentary Linux OS that offers both advantages and disadvantages depending on your needs.
Most Linux distributions are free to use. Xubuntu isn't the best in my view, but it's not terrible either. It's basically Ubuntu with XFCE instead of Gnome. This leads to some minor differences in tools (for example, Xubuntu comes with GIMP by default, which Ubuntu doesn't). XFCE tends to run faster on older or more affordable hardware compared to Gnome.
Check your device and choose wisely—your Acer Aspire 5 works well with Windows 10, but an i5-3337U might offer better performance.
Depends on what you intend to do and whether you are willing to deal with a learning curve. windows 10 probably runs just fine on it but just maybe a little slow. But first think about the applications you want to use and check how well they support linux.
