Invite your companion along, and we'll inquire about his dislikes regarding an operating system he doesn't even use.

I told him it really works well and it's sharp.

Typically, those who criticize Windows 8 and avoid installing it are individuals who haven’t actually used the operating system recently. As a result, they repeat what others say without checking the facts, reinforcing misunderstandings.

Windows 8 offers strong performance behind the scenes. Beyond that, it’s built for tablet users who enjoy interactive interfaces. It isn’t meant for traditional desktops. If you already have Windows 7, it’s more suitable—it provides a better experience for desktops and avoids unnecessary features like Metro.

Sure thing! Let's simplify this a bit. If you're frustrated about the Start menu disappearing, just switch to Classic Shell—it's a free alternative that runs smoothly. You can find it online at the link provided.

If you prefer a more modern setup, try installing Windows 10 Insider Preview. It's highly rated and combines features from Windows 7 and 8.1 into one package. It's free to use, and once Windows 10 is available, you can upgrade without losing your data. Just remember to get the official drivers from AMD or NVIDIA for your graphics card.

I've been using Windows 8 for nearly a year and really disliked it. I switched back to Windows 7. It's the top choice for me so far.

It performs much quicker, is more efficient, and offers superior support. Those who dislike it usually do so due to an appearance aspect, which can be easily adjusted with a tool like StartisBack.

I tried it, but it was accessed online via a VM, so I can't confirm its performance. The design and appearance were unpleasant to me. Terrible.

Back then it wasn't like that. Just wear a vintage shell and you're all set.
