Most of these important websites are just shops where people trade things without actually owning the goods themselves. Other people do the buying and selling; these sites only help connect them and get a small cut for their own commission. If government officials ever show up, they'll point fingers at sellers or say buyers didn't know what was happening, hand over some fake proof of ownership back to the seller, and then go back to doing whatever business they're used to.

They say Microsoft knows about the stealing of their software all over the place. They haven't even said what to do about it yet. But guess what? The data they send back from their machines probably counts for more money than if someone paid a regular price for a copy.

Yeah, and if you spot a third-party seller boasting over 1500 good reviews, you need to think about it... how did this person get those 1500 valid licenses to sell things for such a big discount?

Lots of keys for sale that are very cheap come from old computers that had Windows 7 installed and were thrown away. Those same keys work fine on newer versions like Windows 10 or 11.

The official paperwork says the computer parts need to be with the key when you buy them. If you have a real Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 key that belongs to you, using it on a new Windows 10 or 11 machine will work fine to start up the system.
