You're considering Windows 10 Pro for your gaming PC after years with Windows. It's a solid choice if you value stability and performance, especially for demanding tasks like gaming.

After removing all the unwanted software and data, the remaining system works with a quirky interface, but just like other operating systems, you adapt to its unique quirks.

Transitioning from Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows 10 in 2016 wasn't what I planned, yet it turned out to be much better than anticipated. It does have some oddities, but overall it's been quite okay for my desktop.

In comparison to other options, Linux gaming is essentially your main choice. It’s definitely grown a lot, but if you’re mainly looking to install and play games without much hassle on Windows, that’s perfectly fine too.

I measure "good" by personal preference. For me, it means having a reliable platform that works across different systems—especially a versatile one for both development and gaming. Windows 10 fits that need perfectly.

Linux offers a wide variety of games... and with Steam, you can easily run Wine or Proton.

The price is higher by $100 compared to the home version, suggesting it could be superior.

Windows 10 PRO offers significantly more system control compared to the Home version. I’d suggest it for those planning a workstation—even if you’ll play games there. For casual gaming, stick with Home since it’s more affordable. If you’re using Home, just run Shutup Windows 10.
